Letting you in on my process!

What’s it like to work with me?

Every client deserves a collaborator who feels like part of the team. From our first chat to final delivery, I’ll keep things relaxed, clear, and focused on your vision—whether styling a signature dish, capturing candid moments, or showcasing your brand’s personality. I handle the details so you can stay focused on making an impact.

My Process

1. Discovery & Quote
During our initial call, we’ll review a brief questionnaire to help me understand your needs—whether it’s for food photography, a corporate event, or a product shoot. I’ll then create a custom quote and send it to your team within 2–3 business days for approval or edits. A 25% non-refundable retainer is due after this meeting to secure your shoot date(s).
2. Approval & Booking
Once the quote is approved, you’ll receive a contract and invoice based on the agreed-upon deliverables, dates, and timeline. The remaining balance is due two weeks before your event. For projects scheduled sooner, payment is required upon receipt and must be made at least 72 hours prior to the shoot.
If additional internal approvals (e.g., legal, finance, marketing) are required, this is typically the stage at which they are obtained. Please allow up to 1–2 extra weeks to accommodate that process.
3. Pre-Production
With your shoot confirmed, I’ll handle location scouting, second shooter coordination (if needed), and any necessary equipment. I’ll also provide a shot list—unless your team supplies one—and stay in touch as the event approaches.
4. Delivery
Final images are delivered within two weeks of your shoot date via a digital gallery where you can download, share, or order prints. If you’d like a few images within 24–48 hours for social media, just let me know—I’m happy to accommodate when possible.
5. Feedback
One week after the event, I’ll send over a quick, 5-minute feedback form. Your insight helps me continually refine my process and better serve future clients like you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Timing & Location

– How far in advance should I book a shoot?
Since dates can fill up quickly, especially for weekends and seasonal events, it’s best to reach out at least 30 days in advance of your desired shoot date to secure availability.
– What happens if I need to reschedule or cancel my photoshoot?
Rescheduling: If you provide at least 72 hours’ notice, we can reschedule for a new date (subject to availability) without penalty.
— Cancellation: The 25% retainer is non-refundable if the shoot is canceled less than three days before the scheduled date. If you cancel more than 7 days out, you may apply that retainer toward a future shoot within six months.
– Do you charge travel fees?
Twenty miles of complimentary travel are included to the shoot location from my home base. The final quote will include any additional mileage, drive time, and my time on location.

Preparing for a Photoshoot
– Do you provide styling or props?
For food and product shoots, I offer basic on-set styling, including plating assistance, prop selection from my collection, and light styling guidance.
— If you have specific props or a stylist, I’m happy to collaborate; otherwise, let me know your vision, and I’ll recommend minimal additions as needed.
– How long does a typical shoot take?
Food/Product Sessions: At the shortest, 1–2 hours, depending on the number of setups and styling changes. The longest package I currently offer is 3-4 hours!
— Event Coverage: Most clients book a minimum of 1-2 hours to capture key moments, but I also offer options for half-day shoots (3-4 hours) and all-day shoots (8 hours or more).
— Business/Brand Shoots: A typical starting point is 1-2 hours, but this can be adjusted based on team size, location, and deliverables. I also offer options for half-day shoots (3-4 hours) and all-day shoots (8 hours or more).
– What should I prepare on the day of the shoot?
Food/Product: Have dishes plated or products prepped and clean. Gather any branding elements (such as packaging, signage, and props) and finalize your “must-have” shot list before we begin.
— Events: Confirm the schedule and timeline, designate a point person (e.g., an event coordinator), and ensure that any VIPs are aware that you’ll be photographing.
— Business Portraits or Brand Shoots: Decide on your wardrobe (solid colors work well), prepare any necessary props or branded materials, and select your location(s) in advance.

Deliverables
– Can I request raw (unedited) files?
No, I deliver fully edited, high-resolution JPEGs optimized for both print and web. If you need another form of image (TIF, AVIF, or DNG), please reach out, and I can accommodate.
– How many final images will I receive?
The number of deliverables depends on the package chosen and your needs. Your quote will specify the expected number of images.
 — Typically, 1-2 hour shoots result in 5-10 images (heavily edited) or 30-50 (edited normally).
 — For half-day shoots (3-4 hours), expect 25 images heavily edited or 50-75 (edited normally).
 — All-day shoots (8 hours or more) yield upwards of 40 images (heavily edited) or 75-115 (edited normally).
– How do I view and share the final images?
You’ll receive a private online gallery where you can download photos, share links with team members, post directly to social media, and order prints and physical products.
— This gallery remains active for one month unless otherwise arranged.

Rights & Usage
– What usage rights do I receive?
— All final images come with a “Limited Commercial Use License” (unless otherwise requested), which grants the client:
Use of the digital files in the normal course of the Client’s business, including, but not limited to:
—- Advertising, marketing, or other promotions, or on the Client’s website, blog, or social media platforms. The digital files may only be used by the client. The Client may not sell, lease, or provide images to a third party.
— I retain the copyright (sole and exclusive holder and owner of each image taken during the shoot), and maintain the ability to use all images for:
Marketing, advertising, print competitions, for use on the Photographer’s website and portfolio
 — Social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X/Twitter.
— You may request copyright of the images. However, an additional fee will be charged for this request.
